Blue Lock Season 2 Release Date Trailer Story And More

When is Blue Lock Season 2 Coming Out?

In an official X post, the production staff has officially announced that Blue Lock Season 2 is set to premiere on October 5, 2024, at 11:30 PM JST on TV Asahi network (IMAnimation) in Japan. Like the previous season, we can expect Crunchyroll and Netflix to simulcast the anime series; the availability and timings might vary based on your region.

How Many Episodes Will Blue Lock Season 2 Have?

The first season of Blue Lock had a total of 24 episodes. While we expected another big season, it isn’t the case. It has been revealed that Blue Lock Season 2 is listed for 14 episodes. This is due to the fact that the second season will focus primarily on one arc — the U-20 arc. You can learn more about the arcs that will be adapted for season 2 below.

What Arcs Will Blue Lock Season 2 Adapt?

Based on the episode count, we expect Blue Lock season 2 to cover the following arcs:

Third Selection arc (latter half, Chapters 95 to 108) Blue Lock U-20 Arc (entire arc, Chapters 109 to 151) Neo-Egoist League Arc (only the first chapter, possibly)

If you haven’t already witnessed the magic that’s about to unfold, we suggest reading the manga from where Blue Lock Season 1 ended. Our guide will help you locate the chapter from which you should start reading ahead of its release later this year.

Blue Lock Season 2: New Cast and Characters

Along with the main roster of players that we’ve already been introduced to, we will see many new faces from Japan’s U-20 team in the Blue Lock anime. The voice cast of two new players was also revealed; others will be revealed later. Two of the new voice actors are:

Oliver Aiku by Satoshi Hino (Rengoku from Demon Slayer and Momonga in Overlord) Shuto Sendo by Akihisa Wakayama (Regis in Noblesse and Ryuuji in Classroom of the Elite)

The U-20 Arc is one of my all-time favorites in Blue Lock, and I’m so excited for the anime fandom to see it get animated in the upcoming season. The entirety of the U-20 arc should be animated this season, along with a tease for the Neo-Egoist League arc towards the end.
