Genshin Impact 4 0 Fontaine Map Everything You Need To Know
Where is Fontaine Located in Genshin Impact 4.0?
Fontaine is located on the North of Sumeru Desert just beside and above the latest Desert region that was announced in Genshin Impact 3.7. As for the ways to get to Fontaine, one way would be to travel through the desert, reach Fontaine, and use the cruise ship to get to the city.
Genshin Impact Fontaine Map Layout
At first glance, Fontaine may not look like a big nation on the surface (pun intended) at least; but you’d be surprised by just how big it is below the city. For starters, when Genshin Impact version 3.8 dropped, the developers announced underground map layers to distinguish between different layers of the map. Turns out, it wasn’t just for the existing Sumeru and the desert map but also for the upcoming Fontaine map because underwater exploration is the star of the show.
The official live stream revealed there are two cities — one above and one underground. The one above is where the rich live and the one below is where people with poverty live and the same is a bit dark and murky.
The main city has the court and a few high-rise buildings with mechanical guards roaming around called Clockwork Meka.
As of writing this, we know three places in Fontaine — The Court of Fontaine Region, Beryl Region and Belleau Region, the last one is supposedly under water. The description of the map on the official Genshin website is as follows, “A story that has never been heard, a legend that has been forgotten, like a lost kingdom sunken beneath the waves, yearning for a bard to sing its drowned songs.”
“Following the direction of pure currents, crossing wilderness, the depths of the forests and vastness of the sea of sand, arriving at the origin of all the waters of the continent. At the top of the waterfall, in the depths of the capital atop the terrestrial sea, the curtain softly rises on the start of adventure’s next chapter.”
As for the names of the other places in Fontaine, we don’t have official info but we do have a few leaks. Besides, intel from an existing NPC in Sumeru who probably implies that there are harbors in different regions that all connect to Fontaine, but the one in Sumeru is called Bayda Harbour. Genshin Impact 4.0 Fontaine: Waypoints, Shrines, and More
Hoyoverse still hasn’t revealed the official layout of the Fontaine map and the total waypoints but a reliable leaker has found out via Genshin’s achievement system that Fontaine will have the following number of Waypoints, Shrines, Chests, Seelie, and Time Trails:
Waypoints: 38 Shrines: 4 Seelie: 24 Chests: 240 Time Trails: 12
This gives us an idea of how big Fontaine is. For comparison, Sumeru was even bigger with 46 waypoints, whereas Inazuma has 26.
