Gta 6 Could Cost 100 Or More Claims Analyst
The news comes via Video Games Chronicle in a research note with Michael Pachter, managing director of equity research at Wedbush Securities. The analyst discussed Take-Two in detail and the company’s plans for GTA 6.
Pachter believes the company plans to sell GTA 6 at a ‘previously unheard price point.’ As such, Grand Theft Auto 6 could be priced at $100 or higher per unit. However, Michael also maintains that Take-Two will incentivize players by offering them large amounts of in-game currency.
The analyst further cited the successes of games like Warzone and COD: Mobile and mentioned how integrating such a high price point in a ‘premium game’ led to a 40% increase in sales.
It’s not exactly a surprise that GTA 6 could cost $100 or more, as Take-Two has been pricing its games higher and higher as time has gone by. A good instance is NBA 2K21, which was priced at $70, thereby setting an industry standard.
GTA 6 $100 Price Point Could Set a Precedent
Despite the fact that gamers are expecting GTA 6 to be priced at such a high point, this could signal a bad change in the industry. While we believe developers should be fairly compensated, GTA 6’s $100 pricing could set an example for other developers to follow suit. This could lead to AAA titles being priced exorbitantly without the necessary elements to back it up.
