How to Install iOS 18 Developer Beta on iPhone

To install the iOS 18 developer beta on iPhone, you have to be a member of Apple’s developer program but you don’t have to pay $99 for the annual membership. Once you enroll your Apple ID in Apple’s Developer’s program, the option to download the latest beta will show up in the Settings app itself. Earlier, you had to activate a beta profile on your iPhone to access beta updates. Thankfully, installing developer beta is much easier now.
Here are the steps to install iOS 18 developers beta on your iPhone:

Download the Apple Developers app (Free) from the App Store. Open the Developers app, tap on the Account tab from the bottom, and hit the Sign In button.

Now, sign in with your Apple ID and tap Enroll Now.

On the ‘Program Membership Benefits’ screen, tap Continue, Agree to the prerequisites, and follow the on-screen instructions.

Once done, go to Settings -> General -> Software Update. Here, tap on Beta Updates and choose iOS 18 Developer Beta. Finally, tap on the Update Now button to install the iOS 18 developer beta.

The first betas for developers were rolled out right after the WWDC 2024 keynote event. The public betas should be made available by the end of June or early July. The iOS 18 developer beta is around 6.78GB in size. It took us around 15-20 minutes to install the latest iOS 18. That said, the time and download speed may depend on your internet connection.
