What You Need to Make Shears

To make shears, you only need two iron ingots. You may find them inside loot chests of various in-game structures, or you can make them yourself by smelting raw iron or iron ore in a furnace in Minecraft. This crafting recipe does not require a crafting table, as your 2 x 2 crafting grid is more than enough.

How to Craft Shears in Minecraft

When you get the required iron, follow the simple steps below to craft shears.

First, open your inventory by pressing the “E” key. Place one of the iron ingots in the bottom left corner of the grid. Next, place the second iron ingot diagonally from the first one in the upper right corner. As soon as you do that, the shears item will appear in the result slot on the right.

Where Can You Get Shears in Minecraft

You can obtain shears in a few more ways inside your world. One of them is through trading with villagers. Novice-level shepherds have a 40% chance to sell shears for 2 emeralds each on the Java edition. In the Bedrock edition, shepherds always sell shears. The second way to get shears is to loot chests in the shepherd villagers’ house inside villages. You will have about a 12% chance of finding shears in them.
