Using Apple Music Bot on Facebook Messenger

Note: I tried using Facebook Messenger’s Apple Music integration on my iPhone 7 Plus as well as my Windows laptop, and it worked flawlessly on both of them. The Apple Music bot is pretty much a chat bot that suggests playlists and lets you stream songs. However, it’s worth noting that users will be able to stream full songs only as long as they’re an Apple Music subscribers. Others will be able to listen to a 30-second audio preview of the songs. That being said, the procedure to access and use Apple Music bot is quite simple and straightforward, so simply follow the steps below to set it up without any hassle:

Open up the Messenger application on your iOS or Android device. You can also do this on a computer by heading over to the desktop site. Now, type “Apple Music” into the search bar located at the top of Messenger, just like you’d normally find a Facebook contact. Select Apple Music which is the first result and simply tap on “Get Started”.

Once you’ve done this, you’ll be given a brief introduction of what the Apple Music bot does. You’ll now have an option to start chatting with the bot. Just tap on “Send a Message”. You can start by typing the name of an artist, song or genre which you prefer. For example, here I’ve typed in “Imagine Dragons”, and the bot responded by displaying some of the band’s albums.

Well, you can choose any album according to your preference and you’ll see all the songs that the album has to offer. In the same menu, you’ll have the option to “Listen on Apple Music” or share the songs individually to your Facebook contacts. To share, simply tap on the share icon and choose the contact that you want to send it to.

Apart from searching for artists, albums, and songs, you can also search for random playlists by simply typing “Playlists”. Now, simply choose the playlist that you prefer and start streaming music right away, directly from the Facebook Messenger application.

Access Apple Music Anywhere With Messenger Integration

Well, that’s pretty much how you set up and take advantage of the Apple Music’s Facebook Messenger integration to listen to all your favorite songs no matter where you are, as long as you’re a subscriber. That being said, users will be able to listen to 30-second audio previews, even if they don’t have the subscription, so that they can decide on subscribing to the rapidly growing music streaming platform later on. This is definitely a feature that adds more value to the Apple Music subscription that I’m currently paying for.
