My Hero Academia Do Deku And Uraraka Get Together In The Manga
Do Deku and Uraraka Date in My Hero Academia?
Unfortunately, Izuku Midoriya and Ochaco Uraraka did not end up together as a couple at the end of the My Hero Academia manga. In the final My Hero Academia chapter, aka chapter 430, we got a time skip of around 8 years in the story where we saw our superheroes in their adulthood. However, manga creator Kohei Horikoshi did not address this romance situation completely, which led to disappointment among some fans.
But fans were drawn to a particular panel when Izuku was shown gazing at Ochaco while the two of them relished the snowfall. We did not have the fortune to see both together in love or confess their love to each other as we hoped to. Still, this manga panel gives the fans hope that Deku and Ochaco might end up together in the future, as it finally seems like they are in the dating phase.
Kohei Horikoshi sensei decided to leave the Deku and Uraraka romance up in the air as they didn’t officially become a couple at the end. Thus, this ambiguous panel is totally up to you to decide if the Deku x Ochaco ship in My Hero Academia has sailed smoothly.
Romance Taking a Back Seat in Shonen Series
Similar to other Shonen manga, it is evident that the romance aspect in My Hero Academia takes a back seat. Take One Piece, for example, it is natural for romance to get sidelined. Kohei Horikoshi indirectly confirmed La Brava and Gentle becoming a couple in the series in the final manga chapter, but he decided not to tackle any romance with the main heroes.
The interaction between Deku and Uraraka in the series often hinted at them ending up together in the future. However, only Uraraka admitted her love for Izuku in her battle against Himiko Toga, in which she almost died. The chemistry between the two faded as the action and character developments began to take center stage in the Final War saga.
However, it is evident in the final panel of MHA that Ochaco, as she always has, is looking up to Deku. In light of this, the little panel depicting them enjoying the snowfall together also alludes to their eventual union as a couple. But remember that the author, Kohei Horikoshi, has not made their relationship official even in the end, so we may continue to dream.
