List of Theme Words for NYT Strands on May 5
If you have scrolled this far, you are probably ready to see the answers. So, let’s take a look at today’s theme words in Strands:
SHOVEL TROWEL GLOVES RAKE EDGER SHEARS TRIMMER
The ‘tools’ in the theme helped me land SHOVEL as the first theme word. Then, rhyming with it and resting right beside it, I found TROWEL. I found the Spangram next, which was YARDWORK running from left to right in the grids. After that though, it took me a while to find GLOVES as the next theme word, post which I had to use a hint to find the next word.
The hint gave me RAKE and from the empty grids beside it, I found SHEARS. Your Strands boy was lost yet again, and had to use another hint to get EDGER from it. The last couple of unsolved grids were housing TRIMMER and that concluded our Strands today.
We had to use those two hints though. What about you? Did you do better or worse than me at today’s round? Do let me know in the comments down below!
