One Piece Chapter 1118 Surprises Fans With Joy Girl Reveal
Operation escape to Elbaf is in full swing with the giants helping the Straw Hats, but the Five Elders in their demon forms have been a roadblock for the last few chapters. When Luffy returned to his Gear 5 form to fight against the Elder, Saint Marcus Mars, Jewelry Bonney wondered how to keep up with Luffy’s powers.
That is when Luffy gave her the push to utilize her devil fruit to the fullest extent, even though he didn’t know how her powers worked.
Thus, inspired by Luffy’s current Nika form, Bonney decided to give a shot at transforming into the freest version of herself. We know that Gear 5 is not just the pinnacle of Luffy’s power, it is also when he has complete freedom. As a result, Bonney was able to achieve the Gear 5 form, similar to Luffy’s, and became another version of Nika alongside him.
Bonney is now being referred to as Joy Girl of One Piece by the fandom. Thus, there are two Nika’s in One Piece right now, and I am utterly satisfied with how Bonney’s character has come full circle. Her father, Bartholomew Kuma, promised that one day Nika would free her. Now, the promise has come to fruition, with Bonney becoming the second Nika and being free from the shackles of what held her back from fully utilizing her powers.
With this development, I’m even more excited to see where the story goes from here as we might have two Gear 5 users now. However, I think Bonney won’t be able to completely utilize Gear 5’s powers similar to Luffy.
So, what do you think about this sudden twist in the story? Do you think Bonney can match up to Luffy after finding her freedom? Let us know in the comments below.
