One Piece Live Action Season 2 Gets A New Showrunner
Joe Tracz Appointed as Co-Showrunner for Season 2
The first season of the One Piece Live-Action series was fleshed out by showrunners Matt Owens and Steve Maeda. Now, the latter has decided to become an executive producer of the upcoming season 2.
As a result, the recent “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” fame Joe Tracz has boarded the ship as the co-creator alongside Matt Owens for One Piece Live-action Season 2. Previously, he also worked on numerous renowned Netflix projects such as Dash & Lily, A Series of Unfortunate Events, etc. On joining the crew, Joe shared his excitement in an official statement (via Deadline):
“I’ve been lucky to work on big adaptations of several beloved series, and they don’t come bigger or more beloved than One Piece. I’m a huge fan of Oda-san’s incredible imagination and I was blown away by what the live-action team created in Season One. So it’s a dream and a joy to come aboard the Going Merry as it enters the Grand Line for an even more giant Season Two.”
The OG showrunner Matt Owens also talked about how they are lucky to have Joe on board:
Along with this exciting news, the shooting for season 2 of One Piece live-action is scheduled to start in June 2024.
