Pokemon Go Mega Charizard Y Mega Raid Guide
Pokemon GO Mega Charizard Y Weaknesses
If you’ve fought a Mega Charizard Y in any Pokemon video game, the same weaknesses and strengths apply in Pokemon GO. Remember a few essential points for a new player jumping into their first Mega Raid. Mega Charizard Y is a Fire/Flying Pokemon.
As such, the Mega Charizard Y weaknesses include Rock, Electric, and Water Pokemon. Furthermore, this Pokemon can resist attacks from a Grass, Bug, Steel, Fighting, or Ice type.
Best Pokemon GO Mega Charizard Y Counters
Taking the above weaknesses into account, we already have a good idea of what Pokemon to bring to this Raid guide. Thankfully, there exist plenty of the best Mega Charizard Y counters. However, you have to make yourself a team of three Pokemon. The best Mega Charizard Y counters with their moves are:
Aerodactyle or Mega Aerodactyle: Rock Throw and Rock Slide Swampert or Mega Swampert: Water Gun and Hydro Cannon Rhyperior: Smackdown and Rock Wrecker Blastoise or Mega Blastoise: Water Gun and Hydro Cannon Ampharos or Mega Ampharos: Volt Switch or Power Gem Gyarados or Mega Gyarados: Waterfall or Hydro Pump
I suggest bringing over either Aerodactyle, Swampert, or Gyarados. If you have their Mega forms, consider using them during the fight. Their attacks directly counter Mega Charizard Y, allowing you to deal as much damage to them as possible.
How to Add Mega Charizard to Your Team
Like previous Mega raids, you cannot catch Mega Charizard Y directly from the raid. Instead, you must join the Mega Charizard Y Mega Raid using a raid pass. However, I do suggest taking some friends along for the ride.
After defeating the Mega Charizard Y, you’ll receive a Charizard as a bonus encounter. Along with the Charizard, you’ll also receive Mega Energy. Once you have 200 Mega Energy, you can evolve Charizard into the Mega Charizard Y.
