Severance Season 2 Episode 8 Ending Explained What Did Cobel Design
What Happened at the End of Severance Season 2 Episode 8?
In Severance Season 2 Episode 8, we see that Cobel goes back to her hometown and meets with an old friend who runs a cafe in said town. She asks him to drop her off at her old house so that she can find something she came to the town looking for. At her home, she met her aunt, Sissy, and as it turns out, Cobel’s aunt is completely brainwashed by Lumon.
Cobel runs up to her room to find something but finds her room completely cleaned out. Then she asks for the key to their mother’s room which Sissy refuses to hand over. Even after this, Cobel goes to Sissy’s room and finds the key. She opens the door to her mother’s room and is hit by a wave of emotions so strong that she falls asleep on her mother’s bed.
Her friend comes looking for Cobel, and as they sit together, Cobel realises that Sissy would not get rid of her things and decides to look into their storage room. She walks outside the house to the storage space, and there, she finds her old notebooks. Cobel takes them to Sissy and by the end of season 2 episode 8, it was revealed that Harmony Cobel is the actual inventor of the Severance Procedure.
She is the one who came up with the Glasgow Effect and Overtime Contingency Protocol, and her discovery was stolen by Lumon. While driving away, Cobel picks up Devon’s calls, and she tells Cobel about Mark reintegrating. Cobel asks Devon to hand over the phone to Mark, and the episode comes to an end.
Overall, it is now confirmed that Cobel has no intentions to go back to Lumon, and her talking to Mark also points toward her willingness to help him. It seems that since Cobel has found her actual research and discovery documents of the Severance procedure, she might blow the whistle on Lumon. So, let’s wait and see what happens, and till then, stay tuned with us for more!
