What Is the Sonic 3 Release Date?

Sonic 3 is going to hit theaters on December 20, 2024. It looks like Paramount has some solid confidence in their upcoming project since Sonic is set to make a release during the holiday season. Interestingly, the release date of Sonic 3 is clashing with the release date of Mufasa: The Lion King, another one of this year’s most anticipated releases.

Is There a Trailer for Sonic 3?

The official trailer for Sonic 3 was released on August 27, 2024, giving us the first taste of Keanu Reeves’ voice as Shadow the Hedgehog. The trailer also shows us that Jim Carrey will officially make a return as Doctor EggMan even though he announced his retirement from acting. The trailer made it pretty clear that this movie will contain some insane action sequences and Shadow is going to prove himself as a terrifying adversary to Team Sonic.

What Is the Cast of Sonic 3?

Sonic 3 will bring Ben Schwartz back as the voice of Sonic. Along with him, Colleen O’Shaughnessey will reprise her role as Miles “Tails” Prower. From being a villain to an adored character, Knuckles will be voiced by Idris Elba. The most surprising return is of Jim Carrey as Doctor Robotnik (Doctor EggMan) since he announced his formal retirement from acting some time back. James Marsden will also return to the franchise as Tom Wachowski along with Tika Sumpter as Maddie Wachowski.

What Is the Plot of Sonic 3?

The trailer for Sonic 3 revealed the movie’s plotline. Even though we don’t have the detailed plot, the trailer suggests that Shadow was held captive at a high-security facility from where he managed to escape. Now, he is out in the world destroying everything in his path. Team Sonic is tasked with bringing Shadow down but as it turns out, Shadow is way too powerful even for the three of them combined so, they form an unusual alliance with Doctor EggMan and now, they are the only line of defense the world has against Shadow.
