What Ipads Are Compatible With The New Apple Pencil Pro
Apple Pencil Pro Compatibility List
During the ‘Let Loose’ event livestream, the brand revealed that the new Apple Pencil Pro will be compatible with the following iPad models:
13-inch iPad Pro M4 11-inch iPad Pro M4 13-inch iPad Air M2 11-inch iPad Air M2
As you can tell, Apple is limiting support for the new Pencil Pro to its latest iPad lineup that was unveiled at the event today. We expected the company to add support for all recent M-series chip-powered iPads to the Pro pencil, but alas, that’s not the case. This news is more disappointing for previous-gen iPad Pro users since their tablet is powered by the same chipset as the new iPad Air, the Apple M2.
Priced at $129, the new Apple Pencil comes with Find My support to make it easier to locate the stylus when you misplace it. The highlight is the new barrel roll and squeeze gestures, though. The former reads when you rotate the pencil to change the direction of the brush or pen tool. The latter lets you open in-app palettes to change tools or colors. Apple Pencil Pro also brings haptic feedback support.
The new iPads and Apple Pencil Pro join the Macbook Air M3 (benchmarks) from earlier this year. While these hardware announcements are exciting, I’m looking forward to WWDC 2024, which is only a month away now. I am itching to see how Apple implements Generative AI to deliver brand-new features and innovations on iOS 18, iPadOS, and Mac.
